What is Little Black Book?
Little Black Book: Women in Business is a certified nonprofit corporation in the state of Missouri dedicated to the advancement of female owned businesses through referral marketing. How Little Black Book Got Started Little Black Book began on a summer day in 2012 when it's co-founders , Angel Magasano and Tess Henley were relaxing in a local establishment enjoying a bottle of wine. They were lamenting the challenges of trying to run a business while also running a family and a home. Their ambitious character had made them "Mompreneurs" but now what?
The main topic of discussion was their inability to commit to existing networking groups due to their production heavy work schedules, often hectic family schedules, and the costs and commitment required by those groups. The discussion turned into a think tank meeting about the best way to spread the word about their businesses. While brainstorming, they realized that they were unknowingly, yet actively, marketing one another...to friends, other parents at the gym, their medical
professionals...everyone. But, neither of them were actively marketing THEMSELVES. That's when it hit them; why not form an organization just for other "Mompreneurs" and women business owners to learn about and to learn from one another and become "referral partners"?
Today Little Black Book strives to create a tight knit group of women who are active referral partners. Programs are offered to help educate women business owners in areas of business growth and development. Understanding we are more than business owners, we are also the Directors of Home and Family Management, we devote programs specifically designed to focus on fitness, wellness, time management, fashion and more to help keep us grounded and well rounded.
